He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Sue (Peters); his parents, James Egdar Courtney and Norma Jean (Twist); and his sister Marcia Elaine Courtney. He is survived by: his children, Steven Courtney (Sheri), Jeffry Courtney (Jennifer), Christine Riley (Philip), Elizabeth Cook (Jason), Andrew Courtney (Samantha), Christopher Courtney (Kaitlin), Peter Courtney and Kindra (Brooks).
In lieu of plants or flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church in his memory.
