He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mark Garst and Eva Garst (Jagger); his former wife Thelma Ione Gaston; his wife Dorothy Stout; his children, Patty Yost, Richard Garst (Gloria), Joe Garst (Diane), Dale Garst (Linda) and Cecil Garst (Emily); and his siblings, Bonnie Strutt, Cathy Smith, Sylvia Shramek and Eldon Garst. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
