He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross A. Elliott and Christena F. Elliott (Albers); his son-in-law Bob McKinney; and his brother-in-law Donald Elder. He is survived by: his wife Anna L. Clute; his daughter Denise Tryon (Bruce); his grandchildren, Tyler Tryon, Jeremy Tryon, Cody McKinney, Holly Ruanto (Peth), Mia McKinney, Sydney Heinen, Mollie Heinen and Morgan Heinen; and his sister Leota Elder of Severance.
