With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Townsend of Beloit, Kansas, born in Grinnell, Kansas, who passed away on September 25, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Matt" Townsend and Appalona "Lona" Townsend (Fischer); his brothers, Bob (Ruth) and Bill Townsend (Veda); and his son-in-law James Cale.

He is survived by: his wife Lorene Boden of Beloit; his children, Steve Townsend (Susan) of Cheney, Kansas, Jane Cale of St. Charles and Judy Sander (Dennis) of Liberal, Kansas; his grandchildren, Jason Townsend (Mariah), Matt Townsend, Jared Cale, Jami Defenbaugh (Aaron), Melissa Hilditch (Sandon) and Madelyn Sander; and his sister Marie Suter (Dale) of Oakley, Kansas.. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
