He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Slaughter and Ethel Slaughter (Hines); his siblings, Pete (Bernice Slaughter), Arthur Jr. (Jody Slaughter), Virginia (George Uhls) and Florence Burns; and his children, Jacque, Don Johannes and Winnie Slaughter.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Slaughter (Dodds) of Belleville, KS; his daughters, Vickie Hagen (Rick) of Belleville, KS and Pat Bergstrom (Lester) of Cuba, KS; his nephew Steve Burns of Edmond, OK; and his grandchildren, Joshua Johannes (Jennifer) of Little Rock, AR, Christopher Johannes (Leah) of Sherwood, AR, Amanda Schroeder (Kevin) of Fairfield, CA, Galen Hagen (Kesley) of Belleville, KS, Shelby Hagen (Ashley) of Concordia, KS, Ethan Bergstrom of Overland Park, KS, Alex Bergstrom (Kylee) of Seneca, KS and Spencer Bergstrom of Cuba, KS. He is also survived by his 12 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home (1322 19th St, Belleville, KS 66935). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Central Christian Church (2329 O St, Belleville, KS 66935). A burial was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at the Belleville Cemetery (1670 Nickel Rd, Belleville, KS 66935).
Memorials are suggested to the Meadowlark Hospice. MEMORIALS ARE SUGGESTED TO THE MEADOWLARK HOSPICE AND BE LEFT AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
