She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Arthur and Emma Rousseau; her husband James L. Childers; her siblings, John, Chester, Alfred, Buck and Lucy Hernandez; her granddaughter Vanessa; and her great grandchild Alexis.
She is survived by: her aunt Nettie Bell; her uncle David Rousseau; her sons, James David Childers (Nancy), Lawrence, John Childers (Brenda) and Leonard Childers (Brenda); and her foster son Jay Blalock. She is also survived by many other foster children, her seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Douglas County VNA and Hospice, in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
