He was predeceased by: his wife JoAnn Poynter; and his grandson Daniel Poynter. He is survived by: his children, David Poynter (Teri), Duane Poynter (Jill), Daryl Poynter and Debbie Botefur (Kirk); his grandchildren, Evan Partin (Shannon), Justin Bradley (Nicole Carr), Jason Bradley, Jennifer Okpara (Nnanna), Courtney Patton (Bobby), Devyn Poynter, Jillian White (Cale), Alexandrea Poynter and Brooke Poynter; his great grandchildren, Johnnie Bradley, Wicks Patton, Emma Poynter, Zola Okpara, Ziyah Okpara and Beau Patton; and his pets, Tippy, Susie, Dolly, Duke, Cassie, Sir and Brianna.
