He was predeceased by: his parents, Fountain Hawkins and Rachael Hawkins (Rogers); his wife LaNea; his son Gary; and his siblings, Norma Lee Hirt and Harold Hawkins.

He is survived by: his son Dennis Hawkins (Rhonda) of Beattie; his brothers, Clayton Hawkins, Topeka Hawkins and Dayton Hawkins; and his grandchildren, Ben Hawkins (Amanda), Kevin Hawkins, Mark Hawkins (Cody Dannar) and Charli (Daniel Hawkins).
