It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Earl Smith of Baxter Springs, Kansas, who passed away on September 7, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Smith and Imogene Smith (Edens); and his siblings-in-law, E. Leigh, Bettye Jo Secrest and Harlan Stark.
He is survived by: his friend Janice Cheryl "Cherie" Porter; his pet Bradley; his wife Cherie Smith; his children, Shane Savage-Rumbaugh of New Bedford, MA, Cynthia Bennett (Kevyn) of Denison, TX, Brian Smith (Jennifer) of Baxter Springs, KS and Bradley Smith of Jacksonville, FL.; his grandchildren, Jarrett Shapp, Sydney Smith, Emma-Leigh Smith, Nicholas Smith, Martha Savage, Jack Bennett, Sophia Bennett, Reese Bennett and Sloane Smith; his great grandchild Beckham Smith-Hill; his siblings, Barbara Stark of Dallas, TX and Edward "Bud"; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Smith of Joplin, MO., Kenneth, Marge Porter of Hideaway, TX and Muff Secrest of Hideaway, TX..
