He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald G. Karsten and Margaret Karsten (Frenk); his wife Karen; his children, Kevin (Melissa), Jeffrey (Kelly) and Christina (Nick); his granddaughter Kate; and his siblings, Keith (Carla), Susie (Bruce) and Mary Lou (Sam). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, or the Cherokee County 4-H Council.
