She was predeceased by: her parents, Gene Mavity and Beverly Mavity (New). She is survived by: her husband Dr. Michael Shepard; her children, Jason Shepard and Jenny Sikes; and her siblings, Meredith Roush and Ron Mavity. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
