He is survived by: his parents, Virgil Watson and Jill McCracken; his sisters, Penny Jones (Ron) and Cynthia VanSlyke; his stepsister Terri Graves (Rod); his nieces and nephews, Thomas Hughes (Bailey), Michael VanSlyke (Hailey), Molly Doke (Harold), Christina Herrera (Octavio) and Kelsey Haines (Daniel); his great-nephews, Drake, Sawyer Doke, Aiden and Andres Herrera; and his great-niece Adrianna Herrera. He is also survived by Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations in Jay's honor to the Baxter Springs Police Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
