With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Smith of Baxter Springs, Kansas, who passed away on March 26, 2022 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Trueman Smith; her siblings, Wilma Long, Wilda Brock, Maybelle Woolston, Mary Faye Woolston, Colleen Turley and Jerry Collier; her daughter-in-law Kathi Smith; and her grandson Dr. Preston Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Smith (Mary Beth) of Baxter Springs, KS, Darrell Smith of Baxter Springs, KS, Galen Smith of Topeka, KS, Laura Scott (Steve) of Overland Park, KS and Brenda Lane (Benny) of Grove, OK; her grandchildren, Courtney Rector (Charles), Leslie Minor (James), Juli Schultz, Dr. Greg Scott (Angela), Dr. Cameron Smith (Emily), Clinton Lane (Stacey) and Tyler Lane; and her great grandchildren, Brayden Rector, Bryce Rector, Seth Barton, Isaac Barton, Cole Minor, Stason Lane, Ciron Lane, Seyena Lane, Jonas Schultz, Oliver Schultz, Beau Scott, Cordell Scott, Baby Scott, Walker Smith and Caroline Smith.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
