He is survived by: his wife Belva Kavanaugh; his children, Steven Kavanaugh of Denver, CO and Karla Kavanaugh (Shannon Stevens) of Basehor; his grandchildren, Justin and Julia Stevens of Basehor; his siblings, Jean Ann Van Wyk (Nelson), Ralph Thomas Kavanaugh of Elk Point, SD., Kevin Douglas Kavanaugh (Barbara) of Sioux Falls, SD., Bruce Kent Kavanaugh (Patricia) of Springfield, MO. and Quentin Michael Kavanaugh (Linda) of Safford, AZ.; and his sister-in-law Tina Kavanaugh of Copperas Cove, TX..
