He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie "Ruth" Kirtley and Herschel Kirtley; his brothers, John and Kent Kirtley; and his sister-in-law Linda Kirtley.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Johnson Kirtley; his children, Janet Murray (Greg), Steve Kirtley (Shauna) and Amber Steele (Danny); his grandchildren, Brian Murray, Blake Fuller and Hope Luker; and also, Hazel and Jude Luker.
