It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William D. Gensler (Baldwin City, Kansas), born in McLouth, Kansas, who passed away on January 5, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Gensler and Freda Gensler (Schwinn); his wife Dorothy; and his children, Rusty Gensler, Jeannine Athey and Melissa Arnett.

He is survived by: his former wife Mary Cates; his children, Scott Montgomery (Jana), Matt Montgomery (Tina), Nancy Helm, Candy Thompson (Mel), Joe Gensler and Nancy Montgomery; and his stepsiblings, Beverly Elkinton, Rex Rogers and Richard Rogers. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Visiting Nurses, Shriners Hospital for Children, or Vinland Cemetery Association and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
