He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Elof Nelson and Jessie Nelson (Dyer); his son Victor Nelson; and his brother Clifford Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Nelson; his sons, Jon Nelson (Dona) of Lawrence, KS and Don Nelson (Rochelle) of Carbondale, KS; his grandchildren, Amy, Cody, Gabriel, Helen, Isaac, Lynnea, Victor Glen and Victor Robert; and his stepgrandchildren, Gary, Nicole and LeighAnn. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Baker University Scholarship Fund, c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City, Kansas 66006.
