It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Stephen William Lewis (Baldwin City, Kansas), born in Oak Park, Illinois, who passed away on May 21, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert O'Dell Lewis and Verla Jeanne Schneider Lewis; his wife Lorel June Rezek; his daughters, Molly Glauner (Jonathan) of Lawrence and Elizabeth Rulifson (John) of Shawnee, Kansas.; his grandchildren, Emma Rodgers, Lorel Rodgers, Kristina Rasmussen, Jack Rasmussen, Ray Rulifson and Rose Rulifson; and his siblings, Greg Lewis of Lawrence, Kansas, Jim Lewis (Nancy O'Connor) of Lawrence, Kansas, Connie Culbertson (Roy) of Belleville, Illinois, Nancy Ward (Dan) of Weaverville, David Lewis (Mona) of Livingston, Montana, Tim Lewis of Littleton, Colorado, Marsha Sebek (Jeff) of Chicago, Illinois, Andy Lewis (Juda) of Lawrence, Kansas and Matt Lewis (Maggie Carpenter) of New Paltz. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Family Promise of Lawrence, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044.

“Lorel, Molly, and Lizzie; I am so terribly sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I have such fond memories of The Big Squeeze, Steve’s stories as a chimney sweep , summer evenings spent in your lovely yards in Rossville and Lawrence so many years ago ... I am eternally grateful for Steve and Lorel taking in my son and me when we needed a safe place to be. I’m so thankful I was able to visit with Steve at the RHS Class of 1977’s 40th class reunion. Steve will be missed by many. Love to all.”
