He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Arthur and Frances Rockhold (Tucker); his former wife Patricia Joan Myers; his sons, Dale and Kenneth Rockhold; and his brother Clare "Rocky" Rockhold.

He is survived by: his wife Eva Coates (Newland); his children, Joan Kay Williams (Larry) of Ottawa, Glenn Rockhold (Tammy) of Pomona, Teri Lynn Kaub of Blue Springs and Cecil Rockhold (Cheryl) of Ottawa; his stepchildren, David Coates (Gloria), Brenda L. Roberts (Kenny) of Ottawa, Don Coates (Diane) of Ottawa and Dan Coates of Baldwin City; his sister Ann Suddarth (Richard) of Wellsville; and his grandchildren, Michael Williams of Ottawa, Christopher Williams of Ottawa, Charlie Rockhold of Pomona, Jill Nitcher (Andrew) of Pomona, Kandace Nellessen (Tim) of Frontenac, Brian Kaub of Blue Springs, Jessica Rockhold of Ottawa, Cassandra Harman (Bryant) of Centropolis, Laiken Rockhold of Baldwin City and Hunter Melby (Cole) of Reno, Nevada. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
