He was predeceased by: his parents, James Franklin Hargett and Olive Lorene Hargett (Miller); and his siblings, James "Junior" Hargett, Kenneth Hargett, Richard Hargett, Kathleen Harris and Marjorie Cron.
He is survived by: his children, Dakota Hargett of Ottawa, KS, Dallas B. Hargett of Lawrence, KS and Morganna M. Nichols of Lawrence, KS; and his sisters, Edith Murray of Baldwin City, KS, Betty Porter of Salisbury, MO and Bernice Howell of Franktown, CO. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
