She was predeceased by: her mother Margaret Gillen (Goetz); her siblings, Esther, Kay, Louise, Mary, Virginia and Bob; and her grandson Matthew.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Thissen; her children, Mike Thissen (Bonnie Shank), David Thissen (Rhonda), Scott Thissen (Kaci) and Sandra Houk (Greg); her siblings, Fred Gillen (Margaret) and Lorraine Yalong; her grandchildren, Marcia Ward (John), Chad Houk, Andrea Wiles (Brian), Shanin Faulkenberry (Derick), Shaun Houk and Jackson Thissen; and her great grandchildren, Tyler, Lily, John, James, Samuel, Izabella and Lexie.
