He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Smith and Bessie Smith (White); and his siblings, William Smith, Dorothy Reaser, Robert Smith and Carol Igleheart.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Snider, Gerald Smith, Jr., June Connolly and Danny Smith; and his sisters, Ruby Glotzbach and Veronica Groves. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
