He was predeceased by: his parent Elizabeth Gifford (Moore); his foster parents, Bob Shumway and Lucille Shumway; and his siblings, Juanita Nelson and Paul Steward.
He is survived by: his former spouse Carroll Jean Dinsmore; his wife Mabel "Kay" Henderson; his children, Keith Steward (Lori) of Ottawa, KS and Kim Henry (Jerald) of Topeka, KS; his stepchildren, Richard H. Veal and Stephanie K. Jensen; and his siblings, Betty A. Maruska (Marvin) of Glendale, CA and John Gifford of Cambridge, OH. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
