Edward James Klein Obituary
Edward James Klein, 77, of Atlanta, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at his home.
Born January 20, 1947, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, he was the son of George and Belma (May) Klein. He was raised and received his education in New Baltimore, Michigan, graduating from Anchor Bay High School in 1965. Following high school, he started his career in the plastics industry.
In May of 1966, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam. In May of 1968, he was honorably discharged and returned to Mount Clemens, where he resumed his career in the plastics industry.
Ed met the love of his life, Gabriele, in 1988. The couple were united in marriage in 1994. Ed and Gabi moved to Atlanta, Kansas in 1994, where Ed began working for K Square in Winfield. He later worked as a freelancer in the plastics industries, taking jobs in Mexico, Canada, and Indiana. After retiring in 2005, he bought a bar in Burden, Kansas, which he named E&G's Hideaway. Ed enjoyed camping, horseback riding, gardening, and riding his motorcycle.
His family includes his wife Gabi Klein of Atlanta; his children, Eddie Klein, Jr. and wife, Pam of Redford, MI; Dave Klein and wife, Dawn of Highland, MI; Kimberly Kirchner of Atlanta; his sisters, Zelma Messer of Dafter, MI; Karen Bartunek of Dafter, MI; and his grandchildren, Warren Howe of Wichita; Anastasia Mercy of Atlanta.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield.
A memorial has been established in Ed's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
