She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank J. Gering and Bea Gering (Keimig); her former husband Peter K. Stauffacher; and her sons, Thomas Paul and Steven Francis Stauffacher.
She is survived by: her children, Peter J. Stauffacher of Atchison, KS, Philip Stauffacher of Atchison, KS, Bridget Mattler (Bob) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Michelle Andrew (Jeff) of Topeka, KS and Theresa Baier (Paulo) of Topeka, KS; her siblings, Mike Gering (Pat) of Atchison, KS, Kay Shaughnessy (Mike) of Kansas City, MO and Linda Polen (Terry) of Chesterton, IN; and her grandchildren, Christopher, Celia Mattler, Sam, Elena Andrew, Maya, Zoie, Emma Baier and Shaughnessy. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the ALS Association and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
