We are sad to announce that on October 20, 2023, at the age of 82, Merle Edward Surritt Jr. of Atchison, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle E. Surritt, and Alberta Surritt, Sr. (Peters); and his brother-in-law Ted Hennis. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lockhart; his children, Michael Surritt (Denise), Laura Genail (Lee) of Mooresville, NC and Jennifer Bissell (Brian) of Lancaster, KS; his siblings, William Surritt of Kansas City, MO and Shirley Hennis of Amarillo, TX; and his grandchildren, Andrew Genail (Rachel), Austin Surritt (Kiley), J. Patrick Genail (Nicole), Nick Surritt (Emily), Erika Kinzer (Reagan), Nathan Bissell (MacKinzie) and Madison Bissell-Robinson (Preston). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Childrens Hospital or the Atchison Humane Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
