It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Trower of Atchison, Kansas, who passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Guatney and Ann Guatney (Cole); her husband John V. Trower, Jr.; her son Vernon Trower; and her siblings, Charles, Richard Guatney, Betty Smith and Sally Guatney.
She is survived by: her children, Travis Trower of Atchison, KS and Sonja Betts of Kansas City, KS; and her brother Joe Guatney of Topeka, KS. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church and can be sent in care of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home.
