We are sad to announce that on January 5, 2023, at the age of 77, Marsha Ann Downing (Atchison, Kansas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Larry Ray Downing. She is survived by: her siblings, Max Dunavan (Patricia) of Topeka and Miriam Ava Dunavan of Atchison; and her nephews, Marcus Dunavan (Wendi) of Overland Park and Matthew Dunavan (Abby) of Topeka. She is also survived by nephew and niece.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Larry R. Downing Memorial Educational Scholarship Fund, Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Armstrong Cemetery or the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

“Marsha (or "Mrs. Downing" as I'll always remember her) was my art teacher at High Grove Elementary School in Grandview, Missouri in the early 1970's. I've always remembered her fondly as an excellent teacher and one that comes to mind as having a positive influence on her students. When I reminisce with other students from that era, she always comes up with admiration, love and fondness. Please know that I will hold her family up in my prayers for comfort and peace during this time.”
