She was predeceased by: her parents, John Knowles and Bertha Knowles (Renfro); her former husband Steven Rice; her spouse Francis Leroy Engeman; her daughter Annette Hornbach; and her brother Earl Knowles.
She is survived by: her children, John Rice (Robin) and Suzette Boynton; and her sisters, Thelma Cantwell and Patsy Wood. She is also survived by one grandson and fourteen great-grandchildren.
