In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Donnie leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Donnie may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his parents, Gaillard Bird and Nancy Bailey (Pearson) of Atchison; his children, Andrew Bird (Megan) of Independence and Kaitlyn Bird of Maysville; his grandsons, Bently Bird (Maysville) and Apollo Bird (Independence); his siblings, Gaillard Bird, James Bird, Tommy Bird of Atchison, Lisa Bailey (Jeremy Kempin) of Atchison and Angela Christofano (Lisa) of Copell; and his stepsiblings, Chris Bailey (Gena) of Cameron and Maggie Bailey of Algoma.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Life Assembly of God (1004 S 5th St, Atchison, KS 66002).
