She was predeceased by: her parents, Fay Evans and Masel Evans (McCeary); her son John Jr.; her daughter-in-law Teresa Portenier; and her sisters, Mildred Surritt and Mereta Huffman.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Sabrina Lasater (Mike), Michelle Underwood (Brandon) and Ryan Portenier (Laura); her great grandchildren, Erin, Derrick Hughes, Jacob, Jaysha Portenier, Colin, Ari Lasater, Kerstin, Darrin Schmidt, Lexi Lasater, Kinley Underwood, Kennedy Portenier and Brooklynn Portenier; her great great grandchildren, Audrey Belveal-Portenier, Levi Schmidt, Abel Portenier, Brynzlee Hughes, Jaxson Hughes, Owen Schmidt, Tatum Schmidt and TJ Portenier; her nephew Larry Blakley; her niece Sharon Blakley; and her caregiver Linda Feek-Benitz.
