With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alfred J Mangelsdorf Jr. of Atchison, Kansas, born in Lawrence, Kansas, who passed away on January 10, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred John Mangelsdorf, Sr. and Helen Mangelsdorf (Leibengood); his son Robert Mangelsdorf, Sr.; and his grandson Robert Mangelsdorf, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Velma Chmidling; his children, Rick (Kathy Mangelsdorf), Bill (Kelly Mangelsdorf), Susie Sutter of Silver Spring, MD and Debbie (Raymond Kane); and his daughter-in-law Diane Mangelsdorf of Tonganoxie, KS. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to American Lung Association and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
