He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmet P. Melander and Opal Melander (Major). He is survived by: his wife Kathy McKim; his children, Brent Melander (Melanie) of Assaria, KS and Mandy Stephenson (Casey) of Assaria, KS; his siblings, Olaf Melander (Sara Jo) of Leawood, KS and Patricia Melander of Assaria, KS; his grandchildren, Cody Melander (Kaleigh), Carley Melander, Katie Stephenson and Morgan Stephenson; his great grandchildren, Sadie and Jack Melander; and his close friends, Steve Caselman and Sam Siegrist. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
