He was predeceased by: his stepfather J. C. "Red" Merrell; and his grandparents, Cecil, Geraldine Edwards, William Fred, Francis Wilson and Norm Caldwell.
He is survived by: his parents, James D. Wilson and Phyllis J. Merrell (Edwards) of Pittsburg; his wife Linda J. Peterson; his stepmother Mary Ann Wilson of Pittsburg; his daughters, Whitney N. Marrs (Markus) of Tampa, FL and Emily J. Law (Matthew) of Carthage, MO; his sister Teresa Coulter of Pittsburg, KS; and his grandchildren, Kaydence, Adalyn Marrs, Saylor and Mia Law. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (705 E Centennial Dr., Pittsburg, KS 66762).
