He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McClendon and Emma Ethel McClendon (Duvall); and his brothers-in-law, Richard Hencey and Mickey Peternell. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn J. Peternell; his son Gary McClendon (Stacey Greenwood); his sister Bertha Hencey of Arma, KS; his sister-in-law Steffany Peternell of Arma, KS; his nephews, Michael Peternell (Karen) of Arma, KS and Jeffrey Petternell (Laurie) of Arma, KS; his great-niece Michelle Holder; and his great-nephews, Derek Beam, James Peternell and Timothy Peternell.
