It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie H Vann Jr. (Arkansas City, Kansas), who passed away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Sr. Vann and Jerelyn Vann. He is survived by: his wife Loretta; his sons, David Johnson and Chad Johnson; his stepchild Dracine Hudson (Gerald); his sisters, Estella Vann-Cain (Jerry), Claudette Harris (Jim), Angela Vann Wiggers and Algeretta Vann Wiggers; his sisters-in-law, Paula Abington and Karen Abington; his grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Morgan Bailey (Justen), Veronique Johnson, Natalie Johnson, Gerald Hudson Jr., Desmond Hudson and Langston Hudson; his siblings, Sharon, Saundra, Bradley, Brentley and Brian; and his close friends, Keith Humphrey, Al Short and Steve Livingston. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, first cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory (100 E Kansas Ave, Arkansas City, KS 67005). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
