He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Givens and Naomi Givens (Chaudoin); his former wife Bonnie Boggs; his son Jaime Givens; and his granddaughter Koree Sponsel.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Harper; his children, Bruce Givens (Sue) of El Dorado, KS, Andy Givens (Rosa) of Diamond Bar, CA and Rebecca Sponsel (Jeff) of Carthage, MO; and his grandchildren, Megan Meinen (Andy), Brittany Thompson (Seth) and Logan Sponsel (Ashley). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church.
