He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney D. Patterson and Ethel M. Patterson (Evinger); his siblings, Doris Bazil, Edith Barg, Betty Harris, Barbara Bays, Jack Patterson and Bill Patterson; and his son-in-law Bob Barr.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Elrod; his daughter Melody Pendlay (Bruce) of Arkansas City; his grandchildren, Melissa Malone (Kyle) of Wichita and Brad Barr (Mindy) of Wichita; his great grandchildren, Charles, Samuel and Eli; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Loyd of Arkansas City and Evelyn Patterson of Arkansas City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for First Church of the Nazarene. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
