He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Leslie and Anna Nelson (Eck); his spouse Betty Emmons; his son Ralph Nelson; his brother Merrill Nelson; and his grandchildren, Frank and Jolene Nelson.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick Nelson (Tammy, Bob Nelson), Mike Nelson (Diann) and Donnie Nelson (Nici); and his sister Margie McLaughlin (Gaylon). He is also survived by his 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
