He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Lawson and Patricia L. Lawson Tyler; his uncles, Col. Wayne E. Lawson and Francois E. Lawson; his parents-in-law, Ron Seifert and Jan Cashero; and his brother-in-law Lee E. Velasquez.

He is survived by: his wife Misty Lynae Seifert; his children, Emily and Nathan; his sister Enid Chandler (Tim) of Pleasant Hill; his nieces and nephews, John Chandler (Michelle) of Lakewood, WA, Renie Neske (Chris) of Lees Summit, MO and Anna Shanks (Darren) of Kansas City, MO; his great-niece Madelyn Neske; his great-nephew Joey Neske of Independence, MO; his mother-in-law Alice Seifert of Independence; his brothers-in-law, Matt Goodwin of Stillwater and Ronald "Boo" Seifert Jr. (Amy) of Independence, KS; his son Matthew Schrag; and also, Vivian Velasquez of Arkansas City, Francisco "Frankie" Velasquez and Olivia Rose Velasquez of Arkansas City. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
