He was predeceased by: his parents, Dixie Lee Stinson (Pierce) and Harold Eugene "Moon" Stinson. He is survived by: his wife Shelly Day; his daughters, Heidi Loveridge (Bryan) of Leawood and Natalie Hancock (Tyler) of Lawrence; his grandchildren, Brynn, Hadley, Tucker and Josie; his siblings, Jim Stinson (Michelle) of Arkansas City, Connie Ellis of Eufala, Oklahoma, Jan Stinson of Eufala, Oklahoma and Jill Stinson (Don Barnum) of Lenexa; his nieces and nephews, Chase Ellis (Sara), Tyler Stinson, Ryan Barnum, Casey Day, Joey Day, Kylee DiTata (Rich), Kelle Hutto (Tony) and Rylie Barnum; his father-in-law Jim Day; and his brother-in-law Jimmie Day (Chelle) of Winfield.

A memorial has been established with the Winfield Isle of Lights.
