It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Hockenbury of Arkansas City, Kansas, born in El Reno, Oklahoma, who passed away on July 21, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Bartlett and Leota Bartlett (Townsend); her sisters, Anita Pearce and Phyllis Reeves (Jack Hockenbury, Sr.); her sons, Jack Jr. and Shawn Hockenbury; and her grandchildren, Michael and Jordan Hockenbury.
She is survived by: her husband Jack B. Hockenbury; her children, Joel Hockenbury of Carthage, Andrea Dye (Mike) of Concord, Kim Peri (C. J.) of Arkansas City, KS and Amy Linder (Ray Pool) of Arkansas City, KS.; her grandchildren, Lucas Bennett (Sarah), Zane Bennett (Patricia), Ashley Campbell (Reitz), Boston Dye (Valerie), Alicia Hockenbury, Caleb Dye (Madison), Matthew Hockenbury, Cade Hockenbury, Haleigh Pool, Jackson Dye, Madison Pool, Kellen Peri, Karis Meeks, Claire Peri, Madison Linder and Aiden Linder; her great grandchildren, Cali, Rylan, Easton, Jesse Dye, Xander, Warren, Tyler Bennett, Briseis, Kaylee Bennett, Reighlyn Hockenbury, Jaylen Watkins and Atley Dye; and her daughters-in-law, Angie Heubert and Shelli Hensley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
A memorial has been established for Family Life Services of Arkansas City. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
