It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elsie May Derrick of Anthony, Kansas, born in Wakita, Oklahoma, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Bollman and Mary Elizabeth Bollman (Dickmeyer); her daughter Debbie Hernandez; and her siblings, Harold, Bill, George, Lewis, Harry, Art, Ruth Best, Ella Ball and Phyllis Yuchinovicz.
She is survived by: her former husband Owen V. Patterson; her son Owen Franklin; her husband Frank Lester Derrick; her child Shelly Ireland; her son-in-law Carlos Hernandez; her grandchildren, Jenny Moore (Kirk), Brooklyn Breese (Trenton), Taylor Polson (Micah), Katherine Patterson, Megan Patterson, Calen Hernandez, Carmen Hernandez and Cristyn Hernandez; her great grandchildren, Kyndel, Emmy, Kreed, Irelynn and Wrenlee; and her sister Edna Smith. She is also survived by step-children and grandchildren; several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home (602 E Main St, Anthony, KS 67003). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
