He is survived by: his children, Nolan Schmitz (Katie) and Leah Spurlock (Matt); his grandchildren, Jordan, Emmy, Luke, Brandon and Ellie; his former wife Janice Trammell; and his siblings, Marvin Schmitz (Carmen), Rhonda Wendler (Clint) and Sharon Hoheisel (Jerry).
