He was predeceased by: his parents, James Rankin and Gladys Pauline Brown (Stewart); his siblings, Myron and Bernice Schoneweis; and his son-in-law Delbert Peak.
He is survived by: his wife Betty R. Phillips; and his children, John Brown of Americus, KS, Jim Brown (Billie Jo) of Cedarvale, KS, Scott Brown (Shanda) of Gem, KS, Deb Fields (Roger) of Emporia, KS, Deneise Peak (E. T. Anderson) of Cottonwood Falls, KS and Lisa Buchman of Council Grove, KS. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Americus Cemetery with contributions sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box #175, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
