He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thomas Hughes Sr. and Lula Isabel Hughes (McCormack). He is survived by: his wife Ruby Joan Hughes (Culbertson); and his siblings, Eugene, Homer, Samuel, David Hughes and Patsy Hughes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
