He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry E. Smith and Wilma J. Smith (Dymond); and his brother Robert E. Smith. He is survived by: his sons, Timothy R. Smith (Laura) of Sterling, Brandon L. Cruth of Boise, ID and Jeremy R. Smith (Aubrey) of Wichita, KS; and his sister Myra K. Smith of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the Arbor Day Foundation or The National Wildlife Federation in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
