He was predeceased by: his parents, Dowd Nelson and Mary Ethel Nelson (Moser); and his siblings, Richard, J. L. and Edith.
He is survived by: his former wife Patricia Wood; his children, Robert Nelson II and Teresa Nelson; his former wife Patsy Lamb; his daughters, Tonya Fisher (Laura) and Rebecca Allen (Tim Coleman); his pet Cindy; and his sister Christy Ramee (Mike). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
