He was predeceased by: his parents, Loris Ray and Vola Ray (Smith); and his brother Ben Ray. He is survived by: his wife Mary Sanderson of Lenexa, KS; his daughter Julia; his grandchildren, Isabelle of Prairie View, KS, Deacon of Prairie View, KS, Drew of Prairie View, KS, Iris of Prairie View, KS and Inez of Prairie View, KS; his daughter Angela Ray (Ron Sipple); his granddaughter Brittany Ogden (Ray); his great grandchild Brodie of Abilene, KS; and his siblings, Doma Revell, Jolene Miller and Bob Ray. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Abilene Optimist Club.
