He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Michelle Kopfer (Kellan) of Longford, Tami Gaston (Paul) of Abilene, Jimmy Gibbs (Cameron) of Kansas City, MO and Terry Swearingen (Charlotte) of Abilene; his grandchildren, Dallas Jenne (Cody), Dylon Jenne (Patty), Kelby Kopfer (Joe), Riley Kopfer, Blaine Gaston, Joel Gaston and Finn Gibbs; his great grandchildren, Ava, Tucker, Tripp, Owen Jenne, Van Monroe and Avery Taylor; his brother Tim of Rogersville, TN; and his aunt Bonnie Bookless of Wichita.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Abilene Public Library.
